It's that time of the year when supplies run low and projects are on the horizon. We are close to being out of copy paper. If you could provide a ream, it would be greatly appreciated!
We are also going to be doing two projects that will need some assistance with cash funds. We will be hatching ducklings from our incubator in April as we read Charlotte's Web. In the book, goslings hatch. However, we think tiny yellow ducklings are cuter! The eggs, feed, brooder box, and shaved bedding costs about $60.00.
We will also be "hatching" butterflies that will compliment the last story in our reading program this year. The butterfly larvae cost about $25.00.
If everyone could help us out with a small cash donation of $3.00 - $4.00 toward these projects, the students and I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much.
Important dates to calendar:
March 9 and 10 = Parent Teacher Conferences
March 12 = last day to earn 3rd quarter AR points
March 13 = NO SCHOOL
March 16-20 = Spring Break
April 17 = Oklahoma History Museum Field Trip. We will need 13 or more chaperones to attend this trip. Background checks will need to be on file in the office prior to the trip. More info to come.
April 20th and 21st = 3rd grade end of year reading tests. The two days of math tests will LIKELY be the following Monday and Tuesday. Please do not schedule any trips or doctor appointments during these weeks. The testing window opens April 20 and ends May 1.
May 1 = Third grade Pioneer Day - Student will dress up like a pioneer from "Land Run" days and enjoy games and a picnic out on the playground.
May 7th = Famous Oklahoman Time-lines will be due.
May 12 = Famous Oklahoman Wax Museum presentations in the gym
May 14 = Dodgers ballgame in Bricktown - Student tickets will be free. If you were a chaperone on our field trip back in October, and toured the ballpark with us, your ticket will be free also. Additional tickets for the family can be purchased as well. An order form will come home closer to the event.
